In 1961 a decision was made to provide affordable housing for war widows over 55 years of age. Today AWWQ owns and manages three blocks of units (in and around Brisbane and Redcliffe), as well as two holiday units at Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast.

All units are unfurnished and conveniently situated near medical, shopping and transport facilities. The units have one bedroom and are for independent living only. All repairs and maintenance is carried out by the Australian War Widows (Queensland).

Entry covers Australian War Widows Members over 55 years who are in receipt of an Income Support Supplement (some conditions apply)

Holiday Units

  • Centrepoint, Caloundra, Sunshine Coast

These 2 holiday units are available for rent in Centrepoint apartment block in Caloundra. The units are for AWWQ Members and their families/friends, associate members or a member of a Ex-Service Organisation (ESO). The units are fully equipped and furnished with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. (4 people) They are close to the Transit Centre, beach and shopping centre. Families are welcome but must be accompanied by a War Widows Member. Very reasonable rates apply.
